Investigation into alleged racist comment by Poole Olympic rugby star Amy Wilson-Hardy

DORSET rugby star Amy Wilson-Hardy is being investigated by Olympic bosses over allegations she sent a racist message on WhatsApp.

The star, from Poole, is alleged to have made the comment in response to remarks made after she posted a picture of herself in a black facemask.

The Team GB rugby sevens player, 32, is now being investigated by the British Olympic Association (BOA) after the remark was posted on social media site, Instagram.

A BOA spokesperson said: “The British Olympic Association has been made aware of an image published on a social media platform and is investigating the matter.”

Wilson-Hardy, who plays for Ealing Trailfinders, was part of the side that lost its quarter final match against the USA in Paris yesterday (Monday).

She has previously played for England in the 15-a-side game, as well as for Wasps and Bristol Bears. She also appeared at the Rio Olympics in 2016, as well as in the 2023 European Games.
