UPDATE: CCTV issued after theft from pub by people ‘disguised’ as drivers

POLICE are keen to trace these people in connection with a theft from outside a Dorset pub.

The incident, at the Red Lion Inn, in Sturminster Marshall, happened at between 7.15am and 8.30am on Tuesday (January 30).

Two people, believed to have been disguised as delivery workers, are allegedly stole eight containers of rapeseed oil and a delivery of frozen fish from outside Church Street pub.

“It is reported that the offenders pulled up outside the pub in a white Mercedes Vito van wearing hi-vis jackets and carrying an empty blue oil barrel,” a police spokesperson said.

“They then proceeded to load the full oil containers and frozen fish into the back of the van before driving away. The total value of the stolen items is around £500.”

PC Christopher Windows, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident have obtained a CCTV image of a man and a woman we would like to identify and speak to.

“I would urge anyone with information relating to their identity to please contact us.

“I would also like to speak to any witnesses to the incident who have not already spoken to police.”
