Man charged over spate of shoplifting incidents in New Milton

A 30-YEAR-OLD New Milton man has been charged with fraud by false representation and two shopliftings.

Thomas James Gunner, of no fixed abode, was arrested in Marryat Road, New Milton, on January 24.

It came after reports of incidents at Morrisons in Beechwood Avenue, New Milton, on January 16, at Morrisons Daily in Avenue Road, New Milton, on January 17 and at Tesco Express, in Old Milton Road, New Milton, on January 24.

Gunner has also been charged with common assault of an emergency worker and fail to attend/remain for initial assessment following test for presence of a Class A drug.

He has been released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 19.
