Yeeha! Take your partner by the hand for a community good cause in Wimborne

GRAB your cowboy boots, grab your friends, saddle up and get ready to dance as Wimborne Community Theatre invites you to a toe-tapping fundraising event.

The Harvest Hoedown Barn Dance is taking place on Friday, October 3 at Holt Village Hall and will feature live music courtesy of Dorset legends, Black Sheep.

Known as one of Dorset’s most beloved barn and ceilidh bands, Black Sheep will be bringing the energy with live music and a professional caller to guide people through every do-si-do and promenade.

With over 40 years of experience, they’ll have the attendees dancing like a pro in no time.

Tickets are £15 for adults and £5 for children and people can bring their own harvest supper and drinks and even don some Western style dress if they fancy really getting into the swing of it all.

Wimborne Community Theatre founder Tony Horitz said: “Wimborne Community Theatre has been creating site-specific performances in unexpected places in East Dorset for over three decades, weaving together real and imagined stories from the local community.

“As we gear up for a major 2026 production exploring the theme of ‘Home’ in Wimborne, your support is more vital than ever, especially with arts grants being cut so dramatically for community groups like ours.”

He added: “This fundraiser was a sell-out success last year and we hope by keeping the ticket prices the same and allowing people to bring their own food and drink – it will be a sell out again.”
