A WOMAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in West Moors.
The incident, which involved a Vauxhall Corsa, happened at around 3.35pm on Thursday (May 25) in Station Road, near the junction with Newman’s Lane.
The woman, in her 40s, was freed from the vehicle by firefighters and taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’, Dorset Police said. Her next of kin has been informed.
Road closures were put in place as an examination of the scene was carried out and police are keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident – particularly a young person in a school uniform believed to have been nearby.
PC Kier Dagnall, of the traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.
“In particular I understand there was a boy in school uniform at the scene who may have witnessed what happened and I am keen to identify this boy so we can speak to him about what he saw.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
