Woman in her 60s injured at Ferndown roundabout

A WOMAN was injured after being hit by a car in Ferndown – and police are tracing the driver, who it is claimed failed to stop.

The incident happened at around 10.20am on Thursday (December 14), at the crossing for the Turbary roundabout on the A347, Ringwood Road.

“The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, sustained injuries to her legs that are not currently believed to be serious,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“It was reported that the driver of the vehicle – a white Kia Rio – initially stopped at the scene but then drove off without leaving any details.

“Following enquiries, a local woman in her 70s is due to attend for voluntary police interview.”

PC Mia Jakeman, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries into this incident and I am keen for anyone with information who has not already contacted police to please come forward.

“I would urge anyone who was driving in the area with dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please review their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
