VISITORS have been banned from two New Milton properties amid claims of anti-social behaviour.
On Thursday (May 15), New Forest District Council (NFDC), supported by officers from the New Milton Neighbourhood Policing Team, secured two partial closure orders on town properties.
Southampton Magistrates’ Court was presented with evidence of frequent visitors engaging in ASB and drug-related activity at the properties on Fraser Court and Somerville Court, in Marryat Road.
The court heard the behaviour caused a serious nuisance to members of the public.
Partial closure orders were granted, meaning no-one other than those authorised on the court order will be allowed to enter or remain at the addresses for the next three months. If they do, they will be committing a criminal offence and can be arrested.
The orders were obtained following considerable partnership work between polce and New Forest District Council, as well as other agencies.
ASB Tactical Advisor for the West, PC Rachel Gallimore, said: “We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity – and the associated harm that is often associated with these offences – within our local communities.
“These addresses have been a blight on the local community and I’m pleased to say, through the dedicated work of partners and local officers, that we have been able to secure these partial closure orders.
“We are grateful for the local community who have provided information to us about issues linked to drugs supply and anti-social behaviour.”

PC Gallimore said officers would continue to tackle anti-social behaviour problems – and urged people to report it.
“We will continue to target individuals, including their associated addresses, who remain insistent on causing harm and misery in our communities, through their involvement with drugs,” she added.
“We hope this reassures the public that we simply won’t tolerate this type of behaviour and offending, and will work in partnership to explore every avenue to put a stop to it.
“Please keep reporting information to us about ASB and drugs supply by either calling 101, or by visiting the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, as every piece of information we receive from you helps us develop the bigger picture and take action.”
Councillor Steve Davies, portfolio holder for housing at NFDC, said: “No one should have to live with fear or ongoing disruption in their home or neighbourhood. This order has been put in place to protect residents and bring peace back to the area.
“Tackling anti-social behaviour is a key priority for the council and our police partners. We’re taking action and will soon be asking for views on our Housing ASB strategy to help shape how we respond in future.”
