A BIKER was seriously injured after a crash in Christchurch.
The red and black Triumph Rocket motorcycle being ridden by the man, in his 70s, was involved in a crash at around 7.34pm on Tuesday, October 10, on Stanpit, near the junction with Victoria Road.
Emergency services attended and the rider was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believe to be serious.
Road closures were put in place as police and the ambulance service responded to the incident.
Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We continue to investigate this collision to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“I would urge any witnesses to the collision itself, or the manner of driving of the motorcycle involved prior to it, to please contact us. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
