A TEENAGER was assaulted as he played basketball in Wimborne.
The attack happened at around 4pm on Thursday, December 29, at Redcotts Recreation Ground.
The victim – a 15-year-old boy – was playing basketball with a friend when they were approached by an unknown male teenager, police said.
After a brief interaction, the teenage boy punched the victim in the face before walking off, leaving the victim with sustained bruising to his eye and a cut to his nose.
The offender is described as white, aged around 15 to 17 years old and approximately 5ft 8 or 9 inches tall. He was wearing a black tracksuit with a green bandana on his head covering his hair and was carrying a large bottle of Fanta Orange.
PC Matt Cutler, of East Dorset police, said: “Our investigation is continuing and we have now obtained a full account from the victim.
“I understand a number of people came to the aid of the victim and I would ask them to please come forward as they may have information to help my enquiries.
“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who recognises the boy from the description given or knows who may be responsible.”
