Teen arrested after boy, 7, seriously injured in electric motorbike collision

A TEENAGER has been arrested following a hit-and-run which saw a seven-year-old boy with serious injuries after being hit by an electric motorbike.

The incident occurred in Fairmile Road, Christchurch, at around 7.35pm on Tuesday (June 10), when police received reports the motorbike had hit a pedestrian and left the scene.

“The pedestrian, a seven-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life-changing,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“Following enquiries, a 17-year-old boy from Christchurch has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.”

Police Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Roads Policing Team, added: “Our investigation is ongoing and we would still urge anyone with information to please get in touch.

“Also, if you have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, we would ask you to please come forward.”
