Specialist wine merchant launches new store in Wimborne

THE UK’s largest wine specialist retailer Majestic has opened a new store in Wimborne Minster.

The new store at 7 West Borough comes after Majestic welcomed its first customers to its new Christchurch branch a fortnight ago.

The 3,000 square foot store stocks more than 1,200 wines, beers and spirits, plus low and no alcohol alternatives, snacks and accessories, including a dedicated area for 72 fine wines.

Majestic colleagues will host free wine tastings seven days a week at the in-store tasting counter.

Customers will have the opportunity to try a selection of wines before they buy and get expert advice from Majestic’s qualified team of store sommeliers.

Majestic CEO John Colley said: “Wimborne Minster is a location we’ve been targeting for a number of years as part of our expansion plans, so we are delighted to be bringing our award-winning wines and expertise to the town.

“We already have hugely successful stores in Dorchester and Poole – and we received a very warm welcome from customers in Christchurch, too – so we know there are thousands of discerning wine lovers right across Dorset who enjoy the Majestic experience.

We are really excited to start serving the local community in Wimborne Minster, and helping them discover wines, beers and spirits they will love.”

Shoppers can also benefit from Majestic’s unparalleled range of complementary services including free glass hire, bespoke wedding tastings, and the retailer’s unique ‘no quibble guarantee’, which allows customers to return any wines they don’t like in exchange for a bottle of equivalent value.

The retailer converted a former bank to create the store, with the bank vault converted into a bespoke space that will host ticketed wine tasting events throughout the year

The launch means Majestic has doubled its physical presence in Dorset in the space of just two weeks, with the new shops in Wimborne Minster and Christchurch adding to its existing branches in Dorchester and Poole.
