Shoplifters assault staff at Poole Aldi

STAFF in a Poole supermarket were assaulted as they confronted shoplifters last month.

A woman entered the Aldi in Fleets Lane on October 10 at around 4.10pm and stole numerous items of food while a man waited outside, police said.

As she left the shop, the woman was joined by the man and the pair assaulted two members of staff when confronted.

One of the victims was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have now released CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the assault and theft.

“I would ask anyone who recognises them to please get in touch,” said detective constable Mike White of Dorset Police.

“It is unacceptable for someone to be assaulted while doing their job and we are determined to identify those responsible.”

Anyone with information can contact Dorset Police via their website or by calling 101 using reference 55240156396.
