Ringwood mum scoops three British kickboxing titles

A RINGWOOD mum secured three gold medals at a prestigious kickboxing event.

Champion fighter Liz Ferioli-Brown won three titles at the WAKO British Nationals last month, hot on the heels of her world titles, secured at the end of last year.

The 48-year-old mother of six entered in the -65kg and +65kg Continuous Divisions, as well as the -65kg Points Division – winning all three categories.

Liz is the founder and owner of Ringwood Kickboxing Organisation, which recently moved the studio to The Wesley Centre.

And she said she was delighted to inspire the next generation of kickboxers – including her own children.

“Kickboxing is a fast-moving, confidence-building and great fun sport,” she said. “Two of my daughters – Katrina Ferioli, age 13, and Jasmine Ferioli, nine – entered their first British Championships with me in Nottingham.

“Katrina is moving into larger competitions now we were looking to build her confidence in fighting top level fighters.

“Both girls did incredibly – Katrina secured a bronze medal, I was blown-away that she made the podium. Jasmine had to go up an age and weight category, she fought like a warrior.

“She was against a strong kicker, she placed her arms in a tight guard as a shield against the kick and got in the first few points, it was incredible to watch.”
