Poole warehouse fire believed to have been started accidentally

A FIRE that tore through a roof of a warehouse in Poole is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

35 firefighters descended on the blaze on West Quay Road near the Twin Sails Bridge yesterday (October 1) at 11.20am.

A large plume of smoke could be seen and people in the area were asked to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.

The incident was scaled back by 2.30pm, with crews coming to a stop by 4.46pm.

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire And Rescue spokesperson said: “The cause is believed to be accidental due to an electrical fault. No casualties were reported.”
