A MAN was knocked unconscious at a Dorset social club, prompting a police probe.

Police are appealing for information after a man, in his 60s, suffered injuries to his face and head at Upton Social Club, in Poole Road, some time between 9pm and 11pm on Friday, October 27.

He went to hospital for treatment to an eye injury.

PC Mike Rumsby, of Purbeck police, said: “The victim has little recollection of this incident due to the injuries sustained, however, it is possible he may have been the victim of an assault.

“We are conducting various enquiries as we attempt to establish how he came to sustain these injuries and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that might assist our investigation, to please come forward.”
