Plans to create space for three shops at former NatWest in Poole

A FORMER NatWest building in Poole could see a new lease of life thanks to new plans.

Residential and commercial property consultancy Blue Ball Group wants to remodel the former bank on Ashley Road to make space for three new shops.

Under proposals, the vacant unit would be split into three separate spaces for shops/offices at “a more affordable rental value.”

The plans include creating two new entrances and new windows for the new shops with the addition of three parking spaces.

The plans say the unit has been advertised for six months, but no tenant has come forward – but a recent advert for smaller units at the property resulted in several interested parties registering their interest.

The applicant said: “The proposed alterations and division of the property will bring a vacant building back into use with associated benefits to the local community and employment.”

It added: “The building is currently in a state of disrepair and requires updating and refurbishment to bring it back into use and in line with the requirements in this area.”
