A CARE home’s very own Pudsey bear helped complete an epic cycle challenge for Children in Need.
Staff at Upton Bay, in Hamworthy, took part in a sponsored cycle which aimed to complete the distance between the Hoyal Road home and central London – 88 miles.
Activities lead at the care home, Karen, dressed up as Pudsey for the effort on Friday (November 17), with care home workers joined by staff and children from Year 6 at Yarrells School, who also took turns to cycle their part of the journey.
Together, they managed to complete the distance, with residents and visitors cheering them on.
Mevin Sohorye, general manager at Upton Bay Care Home, said: “Taking part in Children in Need has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has been behind us all the way.
“It’s for such an important cause. I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise both awareness and money for Children in Need and all the initiatives it supports.”
Upton Bay raised a grand total of £200 in the challenge, which will be donated to children’s causes through Children in Need.
