SPIRITS were well and truly lifted at a Dorset care home during a hauntingly good party for residents.

The Halloween fun at Colten Care’s Brook View, in West Moors, featured ghostly games, frightfully sweet treats and staff posing in costume as witches, wizards and zombies.

There was even a spellbinding performance by Dracula, aka visiting musician Nigel Revill, which included spooky-themed pop songs.

Companionship Team leader, Lauren Parrett, said: “Nigel’s show was a definite highlight and got residents and staff up on their feet dancing and singing along.

“Everyone had a great time. We called this event ‘The haunting of Brook View’ and it certainly attracted some scarily amazing characters.”

Residents also enjoyed gentle rivalry in spooktacular games of Witch Ring Toss and How Many Eyes in the Jar?

And they judged the staff’s Halloween fancy dress competition, eventually declaring home manager Kerry Mason and housekeeping supervisor Kimberly Eary joint winners.

Resident Pat Habgood said: “We all enjoyed the spooky atmosphere and fancy dress. Well done to the staff for brewing up such a wicked Halloween treat.”
