Young people have been turning up at their schools to find out what scores they received in the exams they sat over the summer.
Here are the latest updates:

“The national picture shows that results have fallen, however the results that QE students have achieved are fantastic.
“Behind every set of results is a student who has worked exceptional hard demonstrating determination, resilience and a desire to succeed.
“We are incredibly proud of them and congratulate them all.”
Some stand-out achievements were:

Ferndown Upper School
Teachers have praised ‘superb’ students at Ferndown Upper School as they received their exam results.
Despite national results dropping, Ferndown’s students bucked the trend and equalled the school’s best ever GCSE results, in 2019 and 2022.
Highlights include:
Reece Hulme: 9 grade 9s and a grade 8.
Joseph Child: 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s.
Rosie Matthews: 6 grade 9s, a Distinction* and 3 grade 8s.
Max Paulwell: 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and a grade 7.
Thomas Amey: 4 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s and a grade 7.
Joe O’Connor: 5 grade 9s, a Distinction, a grade 8 and 3 grade 7s.

Joseph Child, Hayden Tait, Thomas Amey and Rosie Matthews appear in both the attainment and progress lists and this really does demonstrate their superb achievement.
Headteacher, Philip Jones, said: “I am very proud of the achievements of our students, they have worked really hard and they deserve these results.
“May I take this opportunity to wish them all the very best for their future, they have been a pleasure to teach.”

Canford School
Staff and pupils at Canford School are celebrating ‘some of the very best results in the school’s history’.
While nationally, overall grades have fallen back to 2019 levels, Canford has bucked the trend with higher grades in 2023 versus 2019, across the board.
Nearly a quarter (23.1%) of all Canford grades were awarded the top grade of 9, compared to 4.9% nationally.
Almost half (47.4%) of all Canford papers were awarded the two highest grades 9-8 (A*), while 72% of all grades were 9-7 (A*-A) compared with a national overall figure of 21.6%, 46.6% in independent schools and 20.8% across the South West region.
A total of 99.5% of Canford GCSEs were graded 9-4 (A*-C) compared with 67.8% nationally and 90.1% in independent schools.
Fifteen pupils (13% of the year group) were awarded a clean sweep of 9-8 (A*) grades, a third of our cohort gained an average of grade 8 (A*) or higher in all their examinations, and 61% of the year group gained an average of grade 7 (A*-A) or higher.
“Not only have our Fifth Form achieved highly academically, as a year group they have also grasped the wide array of co-curricular opportunities we offer with enthusiasm and a great deal of personal and collective success,” a school spokesperson said.
“Their individual and combined contributions to the school across all areas such as sport, the creative and performing arts, CCF and broader community life have been very significant.”
Headmaster Ben Vessey added: “I am absolutely delighted to see our GCSE cohort following in the footsteps of our Upper Sixth and excelling in their external examinations, bucking the reported trend of lower grades and significantly outperforming both the national picture and the independent schools sector.
“As with our A Level/Pre-U results, these GCSEs are among the highest on record at Canford and we are so proud of all our talented Fifth Formers.
“They have worked incredibly hard and displayed all the hallmarks of a Canfordian in their positive and purposeful approach to their studies and in their support and care for each other during the past challenging years.
“They have successfully combined their academic life with a whole host of co-curricular talents and we eagerly anticipate the prospect of seeing them develop and grow further as they embark on exciting new pathways in the Sixth Form.
“My thanks also go the team of dedicated Canford teaching and support staff, who have guided the pupils throughout this important year.
“The results achieved by Canfordians are a fine testament to the high quality education we offer and a superb outcome as the school celebrates its centenary.”
