A GROUP of teenagers rode motorcycles dangerously and tried to take another rider’s bike, police said.

Officers are investigating after reports of dangerous riding and an attempted theft in Ferndown and West Parley.

The incidents were reported between 2pm and 3pm on Monday, October 30, of a group of teenagers riding motorcycles in a dangerous manner along Christchurch Road, between Bournemouth Airport and Parley Cross.

“It was reported the motorbikes were driving at excess speed, weaving in and out of traffic and travelling along footpaths as well as attempting to block other motorists,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“A further report was received that the group shouted at another motorcyclist and tried to take his motorbike after blocking his path to stop him.

“Another report was received at 10.30pm of a group, believed to involve the same teenagers, shouting abuse at another motorcyclist in New Road in West Parley.

“The group followed the motorcyclist at speed as they turned right at Parley Cross into Dudsbury Avenue before they were able to get away from them.”

The group is described as being made up of two motorbikes, with two riders on each bike. One of the bikes is believed to be a red Honda CB125F and the other is described as a moped.

The riders were said to be aged around 15 to 17 and were wearing balaclavas. None of them were wearing helmets and there were no numberplates on the bikes.

The rider of the red Honda is described as being of large build and both the rider and passenger were dressed all in black.

PC Joshua Gale, of Ferndown police, said: “The individuals involved in this incident have put other road users at significant risk of harm with their activities.

“We are determined to identify those responsible so that we can deal with them appropriately and I am appealing to any witnesses, or any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us.

“If anyone encounters similar incidents I would urge them to report it to us, if the crime is in progress please dial 999 immediately.”
