The A31 in Ferndown was the scene of a motor collision just before 8am this morning. A statement issued by Dorset police said, “We received a report at 7.51am of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on the A31 westbound carriageway between the Ameysford Roundabout and the Palmersford Roundabout.”

“Officers have attended the scene and the westbound carriageway is currently closed. The motorcyclist is being treated by the ambulance service, we do not have a condition update at this time.”

The accident has caused traffic delays and tailbacks in the area. Both directions were briefly closed to allow emergency services to attend the scene, while one lane remains closed at the time of writing.
