Man charged after mountain bike stolen in Christchurch

A 35-YEAR-old man from Bournemouth has been charged with theft after a mountain bike was stolen in Christchurch.

The Boardman full-suspension bike was taken just before 4.40pm on June 9 outside the Home Bargains store in Bailey Drive.

The force previously said the victim who had his bike stolen, a teenager, confronted the suspect – but the thief brandished a small knife.

Dorset Police said: “Following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, a 35-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested and subsequently charged with theft.”

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on August 20.
