COMEDIAN Lucy Porter says she is looking forward to New Milton – a “little tiny spot of joy”.
The writer, podcast host and quizzer is heading out on tour this autumn with her new show, No Regrets, including a date at the Forest Arts Centre on Friday (November 29).
She will be familiar to TV fans through appearances on shows like QI with both Sandi and Stephen hosting, Mock The Week, Have I Got News for You, and Would I Lie to You, as well as through acting roles in Eastenders.
Lucy also performed in a successful stage version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest in Edinburgh and London.
When asked if New Milton has any significance her, she said: “Oh, New Milton is a little tiny spot of joy.
“I was first there supporting Puppetry of the Penis about 20 years ago and it’s a really tiny room, so it was much too small for Puppetry of the Penis because really that is an act you do not want to see too up-close, whereas for me it’s absolutely perfect.”
No Regrets sees Lucy reveal all the mistakes she’s made, work out why they happened, and ponder how her life would have turned out if she’d acted differently.
She also examines how regret ties in with guilt and shame.
“As a middle-aged, middle-class, left-leaning ex-Catholic, guilt is one of Lucy’s top five hobbies – along with going to the garden centre, doing jigsaws, making bread and watching subtitled foreign dramas on Netflix,” a spokesperson said.
“She’s also ashamed of all these hobbies.”
