Jousting knights and daredevil riders to wow crowds at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show

MEDIEVAL knights will be battling it out for the very first time at this year’s Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show.

Spectators will be able to witness one of the country’s most thrilling theatrical horse show spectaculars as the Knights of Albion will host a jousting tournament at the show – a first for Dorset.

The Knights have already established themselves as one of the UK’s premier jousting teams, with breathtaking jousting displays, original storylines, and movie-quality armour paired with vibrant costumes.

Tom Armstrong-Frost from Outlaw Entertainments who runs the spectacular in between working in TV and film as a stunt rider said: “Our performances feature a talented ensemble of professional stunt riders, jousters, acrobats, musicians, and performers, all accompanied by our stunning trick-trained horses.

“There’s lots of opportunities for the public to get involved, cheer on their favourite knight and even meet the heroes and villains of the plot with their trusty steeds afterwards.”

Those looking for something slightly more modern can look forward to the second main arena event, Tigers Motorcycle Display Team, who will be performing daring stunts.

Featuring children from ages five up to 16, this extraordinary squad of stunt riders is like no other.

Watch these young daredevils jump through fire, negotiate tricky chicanes at top speed and thrill with some incredible formation riding.

Cat Harris, Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show organiser said: “We are so excited to be bringing these two incredible acts to the main ring this year.

“Visitors of all ages are going to love the thrills, speed and daring stunts.”

Visitors to the two-day show can also enjoy livestock parades, agricultural and countryside exhibits, equestrian events, vintage machinery and cars, charming steam engines, live bands, a funfair and many other rural displays.
