AROUND 75 firefighters were called into action at the weekend following a grass fire in Poole.
Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing in the town at around 2.46pm on Sunday (August 24).
Grass and trees were caught up in the blaze off Alder Road that saw more than 15 fire engines respond to contain and deal with the fire.

The public was asked to avoid the area at the time, with the fire eventually being put out just before 6pm.
The fire service is working with the police to investigate the cause of the fire.
Around 14 acres of grassland were affected by the blaze.
