Two Wimborne schoolboys, a stolen art treasure, a severed head and a barn housing a secret are all part of the plot of a locally-produced, full-length feature film having its premiere at the Tivoli Theatre – with all proceeds going to the venue.
Never Think Twice!, a true community project filmed on locations throughout Wimborne and Poole and sporting a local cast of familiar faces, was written and filmed by Wimborne performer, Andy Oldfield and has been described as ‘a rip-roaring race against time and the Devil’.
Seats are selling well and if all are sold, will raise £4,800.
Andy, a stove fitter by day and a pub performer by night said: “I think what we’re doing is a first. I’ve never come across anyone attempting this before.”
He explains: “Two Wimborne schoolboys discover a festival stage at their uncle’s farm. Being entrepreneurial, they realise that they have everything to stage their own festival – apart from £30,000.
“They unwittingly sell their souls to the Devil. Meanwhile, a London art dealer resells a stolen rare painting only to have it re-stolen to be sold again.”
As the burglars return to collect it – it’s now in the hands of the two boys…”

Andy self-funded the film and recruited the cast from friends and acquaintances including John Bell, aka John the Fish.
Andy said: “It’s been so much fun. Wehad some really talented people helping us, including a Bournemouth University student who came up with some amazing creations, including a severed head in a box.”
The film has been certified 12 by Dorset Council’s licensing department.
“It’s been a real community project and I don’t think there are many other places that could do such a thing. Now we need to pack out the Tivoli Theatre.”
