Coastguard warns people not to enter water due to “dangerous conditions”

WHILE going for a dip in the sea in August might sounds like a great idea, beachgoers are being asked to not enter the water due to what the coastguard has described as dangerous conditions.

Poole Coastguard Rescue Team has issued the warning due to “extremely” high tides, swells and breaking waves with excessive force and movement.

The team was involved in multiple incidents along the coastline since 23.15pm on Monday (August 25).

“Please do not enter the water unless absolutely necessary, if you do please for your and your family’s safety, only at lifeguarded beaches, between the red and yellow flags and follow the Lifeguards or HM Coastguards on scene instructions, Poole Coastguard Rescue Team said.

The team is also reminding people onboard a paddle board or watercraft/vessel to wear a lifejacket or buoyancy aid.
