A DORSET landscaping has been charged over a racially-aggravated incident at a London train station amid pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
James Thomas, of Forest Way in Christchurch, was among a group of people arrested after an incident at Waterloo Station in the capital on November 11.
Footage posted online showed a number of men verbally attacking pro-Palestinian demonstrators, hurling foul-mouthed insults, including calling the protestors “terrorists”.
After the incident, social media accounts and a website linked to JT Landscaping – believed to be owned by Thomas – had been taken down.
British Transport Police (BTP) has now confirmed three people, including 33-year-old Thomas, have been charged over the incident at Waterloo.
“Three men have been charged in connection with a racially aggravated incident that occurred at London Waterloo Station on Saturday, November 11,” a spokesperson said.
“The incident occurred at around 5.30pm shortly after a demonstration was dispersed from the station.”
They said Ian Beim, 57, of The Crescent in Surbiton, and Kevin Sweeney, 61, of Upper Farm Road in West Molesey were all charged with racially aggravated public order offences, alongside Thomas.
“All three men were released with conditions to attend court in December,” the spokesperson added.
Thomas is due to attend Westminster Magistrates on December 13, with Beim and Sweeney due to attend on December 18.
