Care home enjoys ABBA-themed Christmas party

DANCING Queens took to the floor at an ABBA-themed Christmas party at a Hamworthy care home.

Memory lane residents at Upton Bay care home got in the Christmas spirit by donning their best 70s garb and taking in the sounds of Scandinavia.

Meanwhile, other residents enjoyed a gala buffet and a performance by Tyler James singing Sinatra, Bublé and songs from My Fair Lady, with festive food from the home’s chef, Alain.

General manager, Mevin Sohorye, said: “Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year and our fantastic residents love to get festive so we’ve pulled out all the stops.

“It is so lovely to see them all getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s definitely my favourite time of year.”

Joy, a resident at Upton Bay, said: “It has been a lovely day. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Christmas spirit.

“I really enjoyed the delicious savoury snacks, Yuletide log and mulled wine.”
