A MAN has been arrested in connection with reported burglaries in the Sandbanks area of Poole and an alleged street robbery in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police officers from the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Neighbourhood Enforcement Team (NET) arrested a 22-year-old London man in relation to four reports of burglary in the Sandbanks area between Tuesday, August 29 and Saturday, September 9.
The suspect was also questioned in relation to a report that a man was assaulted and had his watch stolen in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, during the early hours of Sunday, September 10.
He has been released on police bail as officers carry out further enquiries.
NET Inspector, Jon Sainsbury, said: “Officers have taken positive action to arrest a suspect in connection with the reported burglaries in the Sandbanks area.
“Following further enquiries, he was further arrested in relation to the reported robbery in Bournemouth town centre.
“We have received a number of reports of thefts of personal items such as phones, watches and wallets as people are enjoying a night out in Bournemouth, often with victims not realising anything has been taken until some time later.
“I would urge members of the public who are out in the town to be mindful of their personal possessions and not make them an easy target for suspected thieves.”
