The Pub Landlord, Al Murray’s belligerent comedy creation, has deigned to prop up the stage in Wimborne to pontificate mightily on all the pressing issues that we didn’t really know were issues anyway!
Using the famously particular Tivoli audience as a litmus test ahead of his big show at the Royal Albert Hall a couple of nights later, the tickets, in typical pub trading tradtion, are at a knock-down price – from 20 quid, as opposed to almost 40.
Called the Gig For Victory Tour Warm Up, the tickets for Tivoli’s two shows on the same day have been in such great demand that an extra performance date has now been added.
The great man himself sums up what the show is all about: ‘As the dust settles and we emerge blinking into the dawn of a new year, the men and women of this great country will need answers. Answers that they know they need, answers to questions they never knew existed.’
And who better to show the way, to provide those answers than the people’s man of the people, the Pub Landlord?
Soaked in the deep and ancient bar-room wisdom of countless lock-ins, he will be there to show the way.
Wherever you are, he will – within sensible travel limits and fee-to-booking policy, obviously – be offering those thirsty for commonsense a brimming pint of the good stuff.
Murray has created one of comedy’s most memorable characters in the Pub Landlord. We’ve all met one, we’ve all tried to stay awake while listening to one, and we all know they talk absolute !!x@@x!!
Tuesday, May, 9, 7.30pm; Wednesday, May 10, 6pm and 9pm.
All tickets must be collected from the box office on the day of the performance you’ve selected.
