Community volunteering has such a positive and often obvious impact, affecting the neighbourhoods and lives of everyone from those who do it, to those who benefit from it.
Since a pivotal part of the coronation celebrations is the Big Help Out, an endeavour aimed at inspiring people to volunteer, why not visit Wimborne Minster Town Council’s free Volunteers Information Day on Monday, 8 May and see if you could help?
Deputy Mayor, Cllr Diann March, explains, “In line with Buckingham Palace’s Big Help Out, we want to highlight the positive impact volunteering has on our community and across the nation and help attract new volunteers.
“We are inviting local charity organisations and groups to come and set up a stall, free of charge, in the Town Square, High Street and Minster Green to promote the work they do in our community, encourage people to try volunteering and to join work being undertaken to support our residents.”
There’s free parking and a road closure from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate the event that runs from 10 am to 4 pm.
