Last Friday saw Karl Jung, chairman of the Two Bridges Care Group, the local voluntary organisation that assists elderly and infirm clients to get to medical and dental appointments, donate a £1000 cheque to Avon Valley Community Matters, and a further £500 to the Fordingbridge Friendship Group. The photo shows Karl presenting the £500 cheque to Olive Baker, Ron Mathitis and Ann Pye of the Fordingbridge Friendship Group, meeting in local public house, the Ship.

The Fordingbridge Friendship Group meets every first and third Tuesday morning, in the Ship and is for bereaved and single people who enjoy a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
The AWCM is a charity shop in Fordingbridge High Street, a few doors along from the Ship, and is mainly a Charity Clothes Shop.
