Spar shop worker threatened with knife in Wimborne: Police

A PERSON is claimed to have pulled out a knife and demanded money from a shop worker in Wimborne.

The incident unfolded at Spar in Gordon Road at around 9pm on Monday (April 24).

Dorset Police said the person allegedly grabbed the victim by their clothing and took cash from the till, taking between £300 and £400.

Following enquiries by detectives from Dorset County CID, a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Sergeant Rich Barnett, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras.

“This includes a blue Renault Kangoo that was reported to be in the area and was being driven by a man in bright orange high visibility clothing.”
