Dorset Chamber Choir is holding its Christmas concert at Merley House on Monday, December 19, at 7.00pm. It will also celebrate the 10th anniversary since it was formed in 2012.
The Christmas Concert is always popular and early booking is advised. In addition to celebrating its anniversary, this year will be rather special as the programme of popular carols includes Geoffrey Bush’s Christmas Cantata, which was nominated for inclusion by the late and much-respected member Jack Collings. He sang bass for many years and was an enthusiastic supporter and contributor at all stages of the choir’s development. A comment overheard at his funeral sums up his legacy:
‘From all that was said and celebrated, he was clearly a man loved by all who knew him’.
There will be carols for choir and audience.
The choir will be led by music director John Watkins, accompanied on piano by Chris Dowie with additional performance by Hannah Watkins on oboe.
Tickets are £12 (£5 students/children) available from choir members and on the door – subject to availability.
