Adolf & Winston in worst possible taste!

Two Actors. Two World Leaders. One Black Dog
This October the inimitable Living Spit are heading back to Dorset for two performances with Artsreach, walking the tightrope of taste and decency with another slice of poorly-researched history in their acclaimed show ‘Adolf & Winston’.
London, 1939. Winston Churchill looks in the mirror, realises that only he can steer our great nation through its darkest hour and steels himself for the hard road ahead.
Bristol, 2022. Howard Coggins looks in the mirror, shaves, realises he looks a bit like Winston Churchill and steels himself to break some bad news to his good friend, Stu.
Bristol, 2022. Stu Mcloughlin looks in the mirror and realises that he’ll have to grow a little moustache.
Buoyed by the success of shows including The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Elizabeth and Swan Lake, Howard and Stu are not afraid to tackle the big subjects in an essentially inconsequential way, this time walking the tightrope of taste and decency with another slice of poorly-researched history. But will either of them escape from this war alive?…
Living Spit head to Lytchett Matravers (07795 467666) on Sunday 9 October and Chetnole (07966 177789) on Sunday 16 October with ‘Adolf & Winston’.

Notes to Editors

Artsreach is Dorset’s touring arts organisation, giving rural communities all over the County the opportunity to see and participate in high quality arts events in their own villages. As a charitable organisation, Artsreach aims to make ticket prices accessible to everyone and to enable this to happen, it receives regular funding from Arts Council England and Dorset Council.

The first Artsreach programme was launched in March 1990 and featured just nine venues – 2020 saw Artsreach celebrate it’s 30th anniversary!

Now working with a large network of voluntary promoters, Artsreach presents a programme of around 150 performances a year partnership with over fifty rural communities. Whilst its main aim is to deliver the arts to rural audiences, Artsreach also plays an important role in providing a source of income to the community venues in which it works, with all venues keeping a percentage of the box office and often making extra income from refreshments and raffles.

Artsreach have a huge range of performances taking place all year round, supplemented by a summer programme of children’s activities and frequent visual arts projects and exhibitions.
