Duncan Ross from Christchurch Rugby Club is taking on an epic challenge in June by running 100km through the night along the Jurassic Coast, in aid of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and Clean Jurassic Coast.
The challenge will start at 8pm on June 11 in Weymouth and finish in Exmouth.
Southbourne-based Duncan who is a teacher and also the Community Lead at Christchurch RFC said: “The club chose Lewis-Manning as their nominated charity partner for the 2021/22 season and that is why I have decided to complete this challenge for them, as well as Clean Jurassic Coast, both causes very close to my heart.
“I have seen first-hand the amazing work that hospices do. My wonderful step-dad Glyn was cared for by one in his last few weeks, so this is very personal to me and my family.
“I spend a lot of time on the Jurassic Coast and am a big believer in eco and going green. I enjoy doing organised Clean Jurassic Coast beach cleans with my daughter, Pips, and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of this and making a difference, helping to preserve the planet for future generations.
“I shall be undertaking the challenge with a good, long-time friend Nelly.”
