Christchurch’s Priory CE Primary School is celebrating a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating following a recent inspection.
Inspectors praised the 155-year-old Wick Lane school for the children’s behaviour and ‘strong, nurturing support from the school staff that builds pupils’ confidence’.
The visit followed four years of significant improvement after the previous report in April 2018 rated the school as ‘Requires Improvement’.
The 208 pupils attending the school were viewed to be living out the school’s values with pride, they told inspectors that learning is fun, and the school is a happy and safe place for them to be.
Headteacher Paul Ruffle said: “The inspection report is testament to the positive difference a community can make when it comes together for a shared goal. Pupils, staff, governors and parents have worked hard, and this is an achievement for everyone to celebrate.
“We are rightly proud of our pupils and the way they live out our school values, and now they can be justifiably proud of the school they attend.”
The full Ofsted report is now available on the school’s website at prioryschool.dorset.sch.uk/ofsted/.
