A MAN has been charged for assault after attempting to steal alcohol from a shop in Corfe Mullen.

At around 4pm on Monday, December 15, 2025, a man entered Co-op in Wareham Road and attempted to steal alcohol.

A member of staff reportedly intervened but was pushed into a metal door.

They sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

Following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, a 50-year-old man from the Blandford area has been charged with assault by beating and theft and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 26.
