OFFICERS investigating a collision in Bournemouth town centre are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
At around 12.25am on Monday (December 15) a collision occurred in Old Christchurch Road, near to the junction with Wootton Gardens, involving a black BMW and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained injuries to his leg and arm but did not require immediate medical treatment.
It is reported that the BMW drove off from the scene and was subsequently seen in Lansdown Road, where it failed to stop for police.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving offences. He remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Jon Sainsbury, of BCP CID, said: “We are carrying out detailed enquiries into the circumstances and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
“From our investigations so far, we understand there were a number of people in the vicinity, including members of the public who intervened and attempted to get the suspect out of his vehicle following the collision.
“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please make contact with us.”
