Victim defrauded out of £1,000 in phone sale in Ferndown

A SUSPECTED fraudster managed to walk away with £1,000 after he left without paying for a phone in a private sale in Ferndown.

Dorset Police are investigating fraud by false representation after a man came to the victim’s home in Ferndown at around 12.45pm on November 5 after having arranged to purchase an iPhone 17 Pro for £1,000.

While at the victim’s house, he showed the victim what appeared to be a bank transfer having been made on his phone and proceeded to leave with the phone.

However, no money arrived in the victim’s account. It is also believed the man gave a false address.

The force has now released an image of a man they want to identify in connection with the suspected fraud offence.
