Pedestrian, 80s, seriously hurt in crash with motorbike

A PEDESTRAIN in his 80s suffered a serious leg injury after he was involved in a crash with a motorbike in Corfe Mullen.

Dorset Police said a dark blue Yamaha motorcycle and a pedestrian were involved in a crash on Wareham Road near to the roundabout at the junction with Springdale Road at around 3.55pm on Saturday (November 8).

The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 60s – was also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

PC Mike Wells, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed it and has not spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the occupants of a silver Ford Focus, possibly around a 2008 model, that was seen travelling behind the motorcyclist on Springdale Road around the time of the collision. I am keen to speak to them as witnesses as they may have seen what happened.

“I would also like to hear from any motorist who were in the vicinity and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
