Man charged after charred animal carcasses dumped outside churches

SEVERAL deer and lamb carcasses were found charred after being dumped outside churches around the New Forest.

The carcasses were found at various locations in Bramshaw, Totton and Emery Down from February 5 and April 29 – in five separate incidents.

47-year-old Benjamin Lewis of Kinross Road, Totton has been charged with:

• Four counts of racially/religiously aggravated criminal damage

• Four counts of racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress

• Two counts of theft

• Two counts of criminal damage

• One count of racially/religiously aggravated harassment without violence

Lewis was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (September 11).
