Woman assaulted in Poole – and police want to trace man who came to her aid

A WOMAN was assaulted by a man in Poole – and police want to trace a person they think came to her aid.

The incident unfolded at around 11.30am on Tuesday, July 1, when it was reported a woman was assaulted by a man who was known to her at an address in Princess Road.

During the incident, the victim screamed and ran out of the address. She sustained bruising from the assault.

A male witness wearing a blue T-shirt came to the aid of the victim outside the property – and police want to track that person down.

PC Aimee Holland, of Dorset Police, said: “I am continuing to investigate this incident and am appealing to the man in the blue T-shirt to please come forward.

“I believe he may have important information to assist my enquiries and I would like to take his account of what he saw that day.”

Anyone with information about the incident, or who knows who the man was, should contact Dorset Police via www.dorset.police.uk, or by calling 101, quoting reference 55250094715.
