THE Poole community is banding together to help a community centre recover from a recent burglary and vandalism.
The Branksome Community Centre in Recreation Road was broken into between 8pm on Wednesday, July 2, and 8.30am the following day.
Police said several items inside the building were destroyed and a music speaker was stolen.
But now, a fundraiser has been launched to help pay for the damages – and it has raised almost £700 so far.

The Go Fund Me reads: “This break-in is a huge setback. As a small charity with no financial support from the council, we rely on donations and community goodwill to keep going.
“We’re now asking for your help. Any contribution — no matter how small — will make a real difference.
“Your donation will go directly towards repairing the damage caused by the break-in, replacing stolen or broken equipment and helping us reopen our doors to the community as soon as possible.”
Branksome Centre is run by the charity Poole Communities Trust, which has served the community for the past seven years.
