LIDL has been granted planning permission to open up a new store in Poole.
The new store is set to be built on Ringwood Road, with construction expected to begin soon following the approval of plans by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council last month.
The budget German supermarket said the new multi-million pound investment would provide around 40 jobs.
Following Lidl’s recent pay rise, all new colleagues will benefit from one of the highest wages in the sector.
They say the plans received “overwhelming” public support, with 86% of people who responded to the consultation expressing their support for the store.

“The level of support from the community has been remarkable, and it reinforces our commitment to ensuring that everyone, wherever they live, has access to high-quality food at the best possible prices.
“We look forward to keeping the community updated as the project progresses.”
A Lidl spokesperson said: “Lidl is delighted that planning permission has been granted from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council to open a new store on Ringwood Road, Poole – strengthening the supermarket’s presence in the region as demand for its award-winning products continues to grow.”
