Witness appeal after front door smashed in Poole attempted burglary

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Poole last week.

A man reportedly smashed the glass on the front door at a residential property on Ashley Road at around 6am last Thursday (April 17).

Police say the man then tried the handle before the victim – a man in his 50s – confronted the suspect, causing him to run away.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, and he was wearing a black hooded top and blue jeans.

PC Alice Beavon, of Poole Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident.

“I would also ask residents with home CCTV and motorists driving in the area at the time with dashcams fitted to please review their footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance to our investigation.”
