PEOPLE will be able to Light up a Life during an annual event in Poole next week.
On December 7, the Forest Holme Hospice will host the event, which sees a candle-lit procession make its way from the Dolphin Centre to Falkland Square.
Starting at 4pm, those wishing to remember lost loved ones with a candle will proceed to the square, where the Citrus Singers choir will lead carols around the tree.
Light up a Life is open to all, regardless of any connection to the hospice, and offers the community an opportunity to come together and remember loved ones.
The hospice charity has also announced a series of other activities at The Gather, in the Dolphin Centre, on the day.
Running from 10am to 2.30pm, they will be offering a Christmas Gift Wrapping service for a small donation, plus a Christmas Scavenger Hunt and colouring activities for children.
There will also be two 20-minute performances – at 1pm and 2pm – from Poole & Parkstone Productions.
Lanterns for the procession can be pre-ordered and collected from The Gather from 3pm, and can be taken home afterwards, while complimentary mulled wine and mince pies will be served following the event.
Meanwhile, the hospice’s Tree of Remembrance will once again be in The Dolphin Centre, outside the Body Shop, from Monday (December 2) until December 15, where members of the public can make a dedication on a star and support the hospice by purchasing Christmas gifts, cards, and other merchandise.

“Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for those who have lost a loved one, so this event provides a moment of togetherness to reflect on the cherished memories we’ve shared with those who are no longer with us.”
