CCTV appeal for missing Poole man Richard Smith

POLICE searching for missing Poole man Richard Smith have issued a CCTV image of the last sighting of him.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.17am on Tuesday (March 5) raising concern for the welfare of 57-year-old Richard.

Following further enquiries, it is now believed he was last seen at around 5.30pm on Thursday, February 29, in Julyan Avenue in the Wallisdown area.

Richard is described as 5ft 11 inches tall, with very short hair and glasses. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark blue or navy-coloured shirt jacket with brown trainer-type shoes.

Chief Inspector Matt Buller, of Dorset Police, said: “We remain very concerned for Richard’s welfare and need to find him to ensure he is safe and well.

“We now know that Richard was last seen on Thursday 29 February 2024. However, we do not know his movements since that date and would ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to please come forward.

“As part of our appeal, I am issuing a CCTV image of Richard from Monday, February 26, that shows a recent picture of what he looked like in the days before he went missing.

“I am hoping this may help jog someone’s memory if they think they may have seen Richard locally.

“If you live in the surrounding areas of Wallisdown, I would like to renew my appeal for anyone with home CCTV or doorbell cameras to review their footage for any possible sightings that may inform us on where Richard may have gone.

“Finally, if you are able to read this Richard – please let us or your loved ones know where you are. We all want to make sure you are okay.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Richard’s whereabouts should contact Dorset Police via www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 55240033688.
