A DONKEY foal was killed in a hit-and-run in the New Forest.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an incident on the B3078 Roger Penny Way in Brook, near the junction with Longcross Plain Road, at around 5pm on Sunday (December 3).

“The offending vehicle left the scene in the direction of Fordingbridge and Downton, leaving a broken mirror and headlight glass on the carriageway,” a Hampshire Police spokesperson said.

“The foal was later put down by agisters due to injuries received.

“Due to the vehicle involved having a glass headlight rather than plastic lens it is suspected that the vehicle involved will be an older vehicle.”
